FRIDAY 05.03. 20.00 h
Public Programm of the 2nd Dance Education Biennale / Tanzplan Deutschland
A solo by GERHARD BOHNER (DE)

CESC GELABERT (ES)
IN THE (GOLDEN) SECTION I
Through the Space, Through the Body

In 1996 and 1999 Cesc Gelabert reconstructed the legendary solos ›In the (Golden) Section I‹ and › In the (Golden) Section II‹ by Gerhard Bohner, one of the great personalities of German dance. Following the original concept of the pieces, Gelabert is now presenting elements from dance, visual arts, and music that were selected by Bohner. In ›In the (Golden) Section I‹, the dancer responds – accompanied by Bach compositions – to space designed by the sculptor Vera Röhm, intermingling with and moving pillars of wood and Plexiglas. Here Gelabert, who is presently one of the most important choreographers and dancers in Spain, strictly adheres to the original choreography of his ›imaginary dance father‹ while simultaneously maintaining his own artistic individuality as a dancer.
